Accredited Programs
There are two Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics programs in Canada that are required to become a Certified Orthotist or a Certified Prosthetist in Canada. Graduation from one of these schools is one step of the credentialing process.
Each program is two years in length. Graduates of these programs can enter a Residency upon completion of the program.OPC offers a Student Membership to persons studying at a recognized clinical or technical Prosthetic and Orthotic school in Canada. There is no annual fee for Student Members to belong to OPC and all are encouraged to join. Find out more information

Entry into any of the below programs is highly competitive. Many applications are received for each intake period with only the indicated number accepted to the programs.

The BCIT program combines a unique blend of science, art, technology, and clinical patient care. The two-year course of studies combines lectures, labs, and practical experience. The curriculum equips graduates to perform thorough assessments and recognize patient challenges, assess individual needs and set patient goals, design customized treatment plans, fabricate individualized prostheses and orthoses, select appropriate materials, and provide patient-focused care.

George Brown College’s Prosthetic and Orthotic offers both a Technical and a Clinical program. The program is located in Toronto, Ontario and accepts students from across Canada. The program is taught out of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Clinical Methods in Prosthetics & Orthotics (S407) The Clinical Methods program is a 2-year postgraduate program where students learn skills to become a Canadian Certified Prosthetist or an Orthotist.
