American Board for the Certification of Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC) Certified Practitioners
ABC Certified Practitioners
OPC recognizes the credentials of American Board for the Certification of Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC) Certified Orthotists and Certified Prosthetists. ABC certified practitioners in good standing can receive exemptions from the education and residency requirements of the Canadian credentialing process. Upon validation of good standing, and meeting the application requirements, ABC credentialed professionals can challenge the written and practical certification examinations. If successful, they receive the Canadian credential.
Interested American certified clinicians must submit a letter from ABC verifying good standing dated within 2 months of the application for the CBCPO Certification exams, and email a written notice of intent to challenge the Certification Practical exam to exams [at] opcanada.ca by February 1st in the year in which they intend to challenge the May Certification Practical exam.
Applicants under this agreement must register for the OPC Exam as well as submit a Supplemental Declaration of Identity form. Important note: Acceptance through this pathway does not permit you to practice in Canada until you pass the required exam(s) or register as a full Resident under supervision with OPC and pay the required fees. Contact the OPC national office through the website here or call us at (416) 623-6687 to learn more. Related Links: |
