Welcome to the first ISPO 2023 International Webinar, we remind you that it is on January 27, 2023, at 10:00 am Mexico time, the topic of the first Webinar is "Low back pain with lower limb loss: detection and significance" speaker:Dr. J. Megan Sions, PT, DPT, PhD.

 

Dr. J. Megan Sions, PT, DPT, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the first ranked Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Delaware. Dr. Sions is a faculty mentor in the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Biomechanics and Movement Sciences, which has a dual training option for students with a Master's degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics who are interested in clinical practice while training to become a researcher.

Dr. Sions has been practicing as a physical therapist since 2004 and has been certified as an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialities since 2008. She is the Director of the University's Interdisciplinary Outpatient Limb Loss Clinic, which trains physical therapists and prosthetists in best practices in evaluation for justification of new and replacement prosthetic components.

Dr. Sions has participated in over 100 scientific presentations and 50 research publications in the fields of low back pain, lower extremity loss and limb difference. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Orthotics and Prosthetics Education and Research Foundation, the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research and the State of Delaware.
