The Atlantic Clinic for Upper Limb Prosthetics (ACULP) is hiring a research prosthetist. The Clinic is unique in providing dedicated services to upper limb amputees. Since the early 80’s, we have provided upper-limb prostheses to clients of all ages: newborn to adult. Our small and well-rounded comprehensive team includes a full-time occupational therapist, prosthetic technician, and administrative support. The clinic’s location within UNB’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering also provides direct support from on-site electrical engineers and researchers, with our tertiary rehabilitation hospital located two blocks away. As an employee of the university, the clinic staff enjoys the benefits and resources commonly available to university employees.
ACULP is located in New Brunswick’s capital city, Fredericton. The small and lively city of Fredericton provides the amenities of a capital city combined with short commute times. The city enjoys many walking and cycling trails, easy-access to nature and the ocean, and a dynamic family-supportive community.
Key requirements and responsibilities:
· Certified with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC). Graduate of recognized prosthetic program and certification with OPC.
· Managing a clinical prosthetic caseload. This includes clinical assessment, patient management, practice management, and clinical documentation.
· Financially responsible for clinic operations and inventory.
· Conducting clinical research in prosthetics for dissemination in ISPO, OPC, and our Myoelectric Controls symposium.
