Orthocan Orthopaedics Inc, is looking for Registered Orthotic Technician and/or Intern at its Mississauga Location. We are providing Custom made bracing, Orthotic and Pedorthic services for the community patients, Acute Care and Rehab hospitals in Mississauga and Richmond Hill area. You will be working with a trained Technician and Certified Orthotist. Orthocan shares space with friendly multidisciplinary team. Orthocan has full service manufacturing lab and the necessary equipment.
The technical work involves the application of knowledge on the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of Orthotic devices. Work involves Thermoplastic moulding, use of various jigs/sanders/vacuums/ovens/sewing machines etc., Fabrication of custom made braces, foot orthotics. Other Technical duties included- assist with castings as necessary, fill negative moulds in preparation for modifications, assemble and statically align devices, according to directions provided by clinicians, perform repair and/or adjustments with minimal supervision from clinician, to cosmetically finish devices. General lab housekeeping duties including maintenance, cleanliness. Material ordering, as required and Other duties to facilitate lab flow efficiency.
Position: Part time/Full time. Timing: Flexible. Saturdays and weeknights possible.
Other Qualifications: Technical competency, attention to detail and self –organized. Possess excellent workmanship qualities with a desire to continue learning Ability to work independently and contribute to the overall team environment of the clinic. Solid time management skills with ability to prioritize work volumes to meet deadlines.
